What’s her area of expertise?

Yani
Fish
Passionate, dedicated, and deeply compassionate, Yani has built her career around helping women affected by cancer regain strength, confidence, and pride in their bodies. As a Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation Specialist, she combines scientific expertise, clinical care, and endless energy to empower every fighter to feel strong and in control of their journey.
She’s a Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation Specialist helping cancer fighters feel strong and build confidence in their bodies. She works in a clinical capacity, leading research studies aimed at making exercise programs accessible to every cancer patient in the UK through the NHS.
And last but not least, she’s Head of Exercise Oncology at Compete for a Cure.
What led her to do this kind of work?
After learning that her best friend had been diagnosed with cancer at just 29, she felt a powerful need to do more than offering emotional support. Accompanying her to chemotherapy sessions and standing by her side throughout the journey - became a steady source of strength for the both of them. And just like she said - “Many hours of study and qualifications, and almost 10 years later, here I am!”
How does she like to support and connect with the Fighters?
In three words : accomplishment, pride and strength. That’s how she’d help you with her programs that make everyday life easier, filled with movements that build confidence in all the areas. Every session, she’d make sure her fighters would walk away feeling accomplished and proud of their progress. Her role isn’t just to coach — she’s the biggest cheerleader, always celebrating wins even the tiniest ones.
What does she love most about her role?
Yani is a real caring, kind-hearted and compassionate person when it comes to others - “I love seeing the incredible people that I'm lucky enough to work with, feeling stronger than they ever thought they could, getting some of the confidence in their bodies back that they may have lost since their diagnosis”.
She helps people take back a sense of control and ownership over their lives—at a time when so much is dictated by hospital appointments and the needs of their clinical team. During that one hour of training, they're not just patients; they're individuals feeling strong, empowered, and alive.
A wellness tip or simple exercise she’d recommend:
Yani would always recommend working day-to-day and carefully listen to your own needs. She would remind you to “work towards whatever that feels like on that day”. Giving everything you can and feeling exhausted at the end of the day is not what she thrives for, she’d always be there to tell you to go at your own pace as long as you end up being proud of yourself.
