Mahany
Meet Maggie, a true ray of sunshine in the Pink Army Foundation and the Compete for a Cure team. Mental health counselor, mindset coach, and CrossFit trainer, she brings passion, expertise, and a whole lot of heart to support our Fighters in their journey.
What’s your area of expertise?
"My name is Maggie and I’m a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida and I also mindset coach with athletes. I am a L2 CrossFit Coach and business owner. I love to spend time with my dog Sushi and with my CrossFit community at CrossFit Tailwinds in Jacksonville, Florida. My family, close friends and significant other are my biggest supporter and I hope everyone has a home team in their life cheering them on!"
What led you to this type of work?
"After experiencing the difficulties of loving someone with substance issues and mental health concerns,
I always wanted to know the “why” behind what was happening and how I could help if I could. This led to studying this in school after working in law enforcement and the criminal justice system."
How would you like to support and connect with fighters?
"Tand I’m honored to work with all the fighters. When I was very young, I lost someone close to me to breast cancer and I didn’t understand the disease, the treatment and what was involved physically, emotionally, mentally. This is my way of supporting now that I’m older and understand. This is such an amazing group of people. Their spirit and drive alone are so impressive."
What do you love most about your role?
"ALL the individual time and amazing conversations! I love that I get to participate in helping and talking through things that people know but might not know how to implement. I love being able to see some “ahhh ha” moments in peoples lives and get to really know them and what they like to do and who they are outside of the role of fighter."
