De Combattantes à Ambassadrices

Fichier 1_3x.png

MICHELLE

"My name is Michelle Zilen, I reside in Pennsylvania. I have been married to my husband 30 years in August 2026. I have two amazing adult children and I'm going to be a Nonna in August 2026 for the first time. Cancer will not stop me - I travel the world every chance I get. I was originally diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer January 17, 2022. Cancer is a word none of us want to hear, but cancer is just a chapter, it does not define us or our life, if you don't let it. Get out, get up and live a great story. Through Pink Army Foundation I met the most inspirational, strong woman I have ever known. I am not the woman I used to be, because she didn't survive. I am what came after."

JENN

"My name is Jenn, and I’m honored to be part of the Pink Army Ambassador Community. This photo was taken during the Edge Walk at the CN Tower in 2023— a day I’ll never forget. I was waiting for my biopsy results, and instead of sitting in fear, I said yes to an adventure I’d been putting off for years. That day reminded me that the world is huge and sometimes overwhelming, but we are capable of standing at the top of it, even when we don’t feel brave. I met two incredible women that day, and we’re still connected — a reminder that courage often brings unexpected community. My journey has taught me not to wait for the “right time” to live fully. My mantra is: “Keep climbing your own mountain — and on days it seems to steep, pause when you need to, rest instead of quitting, but never give up on the view waiting for you.”

BETH

"Beth Marchant is a passionate breast cancer advocate dedicated to supporting and empowering women navigating diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Drawing from her own lived experience, she speaks openly about the emotional and physical realities of cancer, helping others feel seen, informed, and less alone. She is actively involved in national awareness efforts, including the Not Too Young Campaign with Dense Breasts Canada, the Know More Campaign with Breast Cancer Canada, and her annual PinkPrints Campaign in support of the Breast Cancer Support Fund. Beth is also proud to serve as an ambassador for the Pink Army Foundation, continuing to expand her impact within the advocacy community. A strong voice for aesthetic flat closure, she challenges outdated narratives and advocates for informed choice, reinforcing that a woman’s value is not defined by her body or curves. Through storytelling, community engagement, and fearless advocacy, Beth is committed to creating space for honest conversations and meaningful change."

GENEVIÈVE

"I’m Geneviève—mom, leader, and someone who believes a little kindness (and a good sense of humour) can carry us through almost anything. The past few years have definitely tested me… but they also taught me resilience, perspective, and how to keep going—even when I’d rather hit pause (or nap!). I’m passionate about helping women feel seen, supported, and a little lighter, because no one should face hard moments alone. In my day job, I lead a national team focused on education and empowerment, so lifting others up is kind of my thing. I show up with heart, positivity, and the belief that we’re stronger together. My mantra? If you tell me it’s impossible, I’ll probably try it just to prove you wrong. 💗"

EILEEN

"Hi everyone.  My name is Eileen Mollahan.  I’m 56 years young.   I was a paramedic for 34 years before retiring and moving to the mountains.  My journey began at 51 with the words “we see something on your scan.”   That was the moment I decided no matter what the situation I was going to keep living my life.  Remember you are still you. You are not cancer."

ANNIKA

"I’m a mother to two young adults and have been happily married for over 20 years. I love being outdoors, and my passions include skiing, hiking, reading, and traveling. I enjoy hosting dinner parties, and when it’s time to rest, you’ll usually find me sitting outside with a good book or curled up on the sofa with my two golden retrievers. I was diagnosed in March 2025, so this cancer journey is still fairly new to me. Surgery and radiation take a toll—not only on the body, but on the mind as well. Being a Pink Army fighter became a bright spot during treatment. It helped me reconnect with me—the girl who loves being outside and feels most like herself when she’s active. The support from the Pink Army showed me that staying active is still possible, even during treatment. This journey has shown me how fragile and precious life truly is. It’s reminded me to slow down and appreciate the little things in life."

CINDY

"My name is Cindy, and I'm a proud mom to three amazing adult children and a doting "fur-mom" to three beloved pets. Professionally, I've dedicated my career to caring for others as a registered nurse specializing in Intensive Care, a field where compassion and resilience are paramount. Outside of work, I find joy and rejuvenation in various activities – I'm an avid runner, which helps me stay grounded, and I love the energy of live concerts and the adventure of traveling to new places. My personal journey took an unexpected turn at age 42 when I was diagnosed with DCIS. That single phone call irrevocably altered my life's trajectory, leading to eight challenging surgeries. While I fought and ultimately beat cancer, the emotional and physical toll left me feeling quite defeated and adrift. It wasn't until I found the Pink Army that I truly began to heal and rediscover my strength. This foundation didn't just give me hope; it gave me back my life, empowering me with the courage to believe I am capable of achieving remarkable things."

MONIQUE

"I am a strong, independent mother of two teenage boys and the spouse of a wonderfully supportive man. In 2023, I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS), and after a lumpectomy and radiation, I was declared cancer‑free in September 2025. I chose to continue working throughout treatment to keep my mind focused on something beyond the immediate fear and uncertainty. In 2026, another scare in my opposite breast shook me more deeply than I expected, unraveling the mental strength I thought I had mastered. I hadn’t realized how much the journey had taken out of me until I found myself unable to compartmentalize and spiraling in ways I’m still recovering from. My advice to anyone facing this path is simple: do not walk it alone and lean on your supports—independence is admirable, but even the strongest among us can waver. I acknowledge my strength is not what it once was; Cancer changed me; but ultimately I choose who I become in the end."

HALISHA

"My name is Halisha, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 35, now five years later I’ve reached a milestone that reflects both strength and resilience. Throughout this journey I refused to let cancer define or defeat me. I kept moving forward, embracing life in every way I could. During this time, I got engaged and got married, now I’m looking ahead in hopes to starting a family. I have a deep love for travel, and the beach is where I feel most at peace. If there’s one thing I’ve learned and would share with others, it’s this: Fight! Don’t let cancer define who you are, believe in yourself because you are stronger than you know."

JENNIFER

"Hello, I’m Jennifer. I’m 56 years old and live in the suburbs of Chicago with my husband Greg and our greyhound, Happy. We have three grown sons and one very precious granddaughter. By day, I’m at a desk, but the rest of my life is anything but sedentary. On weekends you can find me on stage, singing with my classic rock cover band. My bright orange Jeep Wrangler carries my band gear, but also trail gear, so I can take full advantage of any off-road opportunity. Fifteen years ago, I faced a daunting battle with aggressive stage three breast cancer. The fight left its marks, specifically lymphedema and permanent hair loss, but it didn’t take my spirit. Last year I reclaimed my strength by hitting the gym, hitting the pavement, and completing my first MUDGIRL event, thanks to the incredible support of the Pink Army Training Initiative. Now I’m deeply passionate about supporting and celebrating fellow Fighters. Whether we’re on stage, on the trails, or in the gym, I’m here to cheer you on!"

LAURA

"I was diagnosed at 46, and I am grateful to still be here. I embrace life with strength, courage, and positivity. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new places, spending time with my family, and taking on new challenges. May 2026, I am excited to complete my fourth mud run!"

MARGARET

"I’m a wife and mother of three who, after being diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer at 58, is now nearing the end of a two-year journey of chemo, radiation and sugeries. It’s been a path shaped by strength, gratitude, and the incredible support of family and friends. I started with a borrowed quote from a friend and fellow breast cancer survivor ...“I can. I will. End of story.”... and have since adopted a mantra that my son-in-law’s Nonna started every day with: “Thank you, God, for another day.” In my free time, I enjoy gardening, hiking, puzzling, reading, and sharing good food with friends and family."
